The botanical park of Haute Bretagne, known for its Japanese-inspired gardens, is in reality a “world garden”, of which we can say, borrowing from Hans-Ulrich Obrist, that its “utopian point of horizon would be located at the crossroads of all cultures.
Over 25 hectares, as many gardens where thousands of plant and botanical species meet mythologies, religions and history in a sensory and spiritual quest in constant renewal.
All of the gardens, which are part of a species conservation approach, were created in 1994 by the owner of the premises, Alain Jouno, a trained agricultural engineer.
This botanical project is a personal initiative which does not receive any operating subsidies.
Gardens are open everyday from 01/03 to 15/11.
